As the CEO of Optimize Practice Services Joshua Gwinn leads dentistry and orthodontics healthcare operations at our locations in several states. Gaining extensive logistical and leadership expertise as an operations specialist for the United States Navy allowed Josh to hone a leadership style based on teams of scale driven by accountability, compassion, mission and the promotion of courageous and creative “outside-the-box” problem-solving. After leaving the Navy, Josh worked for several years with national vision-affiliated brands applying his expertise in large team management to multi-state organizational operations. Transitioning to the dental field, Josh was recruited to become the regional director of over 50 practices for the Great Expressions Dental Centers throughout Michigan and Ohio. Josh then pivoted to lead education and training operations for over 200 Gentle Dental practices in the Pacific Northwest and California. And most recently, Josh served as the Chief Executive Officer for Hero Practice Services a pediatric-focused Dental, Vision, and Orthodontic organization serving providers and patients in seven states and over 70 locations across the nation. Brian Colao is the Director of Dykema’s Dental Service Organizations Group. He has been serving the dental industry for over 25 years and is widely regarded as one of the foremost authorities in the United States on DSO formation, DSO business structures, DSO related mergers and acquisitions, and the full array of regulatory compliance requirements for DSOs. Brian was named a “2019 DSO Influencer” by Group Dentistry Now and the “2023 Thought Leader of the Year” by Planet DDS.
Trina McNeal is the Director of Revenue Cycle at Aligned Dental where she advises dental groups and DSOs throughout North America. In this role, Trina helps dentist entrepreneurs increase revenue and drive EBITDA utilizing her skillset as an authority on RCM, payor relations, and dental practice operations. Trina brings over 15 years of experience in dental business operations and specializes in revenue cycle management. She has a Specialization Certification in Leadership Management from Harvard Online Business School and has completed courses in leadership principles, management essentials, and strategy execution. Trina has experience as a Director of Revenue with Dental Service Organizations, overseeing 70+ locations and managing processes for an annual revenue of over $120 million. Trina has a track record of successfully salvaging key client relationships and spearheading successful mergers, including overseeing 1,400+ dental practices with 2,000+ contractors, 375 + employees, and $25M+ in revenue. She has been recognized for executing a major company merger previously deemed irrecoverable.
Dr. Charles Moser, CEO & Founder at Blue Horse Personal Development. Dr. Moser considers himself more than a clinician. Dental school, residency and then back to Houston to own multiple practices, before taking a position as the Dental Director for a fast growing DSO in Houston. Daily duties included the oversight of 40+ associate dentists and over 200 team members. Mentoring, coaching, training and improving the lives of owners and associates was his job. Ato Kasymov is passionate about technology solving hard problems in complex and highly regulated industries, and found the problem of U.S. dental insurance billing to be a perfect candidate for disruption. He currently sets the direction and strategy at Zentist. Prior to founding Zentist, Ato spent more than 10 years in corporate financings and investments at various large-scale financial institutions. He served as the CIO of National Investment Corporation, a $100B sovereign wealth fund in Central Asia. Prior to that, he served as the Head of Corporate Finance at Samruk-Kazyna, an $80B sovereign wealth fund focused on Central Asia regional investments. Mr. Kasymov holds a dual MBA from the London Business School and Columbia Business School.
Donna Ramadan joins Great Lakes Dental Partners as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management and Compliance. Donna has more than 30 years of healthcare experience on the hospital and medical group side. Donna is a Registered Nurse with extensive ICU and trauma clinical experience. After leading several hospital inpatient care units, she earned a Master in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University and transitioned to Revenue Cycle Leadership. Prior to joining Great Lakes Dental Partners, Donna has lead Revenue Cycle Operations at several hospitals including Northwestern Medicine, Delnor Hospital; Saint Anthony Hospital and The Cleveland Clinic. Understanding both the clinical and financial aspects of care delivery is key to successful Revenue cycle operations, and developing relationships with providers. Outside of the office, Donna enjoys gardening, kayaking and spending time with her two dogs
Victoria is an accomplished leader in the dental industry with over fourteen years of experience. Her career has been dedicated to optimizing financial operations for DSOs and dental groups. She possesses a deep understanding of Operations and the entire Revenue Cycle, encompassing credentialing, payor relations, patient financial services, and strategies to achieve overall operational success. Victoria's expertise is evidenced by her progressive leadership roles within prominent DSOs. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to drive revenue growth while simultaneously improving operational efficiency and reducing costs. Throughout her extensive career, Jenny has emerged as a seasoned authority in Dental Revenue Cycle management, distinguished by her thoughtful leadership. She has held pivotal roles in numerous multi-location dental practices and DSOs, serving as Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations, and presently, she holds the position of Director of Revenue Cycle Management at Elevate Dental Partners, a prominent DPO based in Denver, Colorado. Jenny's strategic acumen has been essential in revamping revenue cycles and boosting financial stability. She has spearheaded the creation and implementation of streamlined processes, establishing and deploying centralized global revenue cycle departments. Austin State University in Texas. Tarek has a CVA certification from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. His expertise includes Dental Support Organizations platform development and management, M&As, Business Valuation, and Dental Organizations Management. He has written three publications and is currently working on a book addressing the management of dental practices and DSOs. He is currently the Co-founder of Modern Smiles (10 dental practice locations), a partner at Community Dental Partners (82 dental practice locations), the Co-founder of OrthoDent Management LLC (12 dental practice locations), and President/Founder of Precision Advisory LLC. Tarek is also a public speaker and competes in Toastmasters International.
Paul Kaiser is the CEO of DentalXChange and has over 20 years of healthcare IT experience including MedeAnalytics, Cognizant, TriZetto, TDS Clinical and Cerner. Paul is known for motivating and positioning teams to consistently exceed financial and operational goals and for creating positive cultures of accountability. He is passionate about relationships, innovation, partnerships and the opportunity to bring new ideas to the dental industry. Lisa serves as TDN’s Vice President of Revenue Cycle and is responsible for Payor Relations and all Revenue Cycle Management functions. 20 years of experience in DSO Revenue Cycle across 5 National DSOs (Coast Dental, Benevis, Dental One Partners, Sage Dental and TDN) with extensive knowledge and experience in payor relations, contract negotiations, credentialing, EDI, billing and collections. Lisa has worked with several carriers on developing their websites, and provider interactions. Additionally, she has been active with Dentrix on beta testing & software development. Most recently Lisa has been appointed by Delta Dental as a lead on their national Provider Advisory Council. Lisa holds an undergraduate degree from The University of Connecticut, and a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. She is a retired member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Lisa lives in the Tampa, FL area and is active in Community Theater and passionate about Tampa professional sports, especially the Tampa Bay Rays.

Kara Ficker is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in various industries in both large and mid-size companies. A multi-skilled finance leader, Kara has extensive experience in budgeting, financial analysis and all phases of the monthly accounting function, leadership, and team development. Three years ago, she assumed responsibility for our Revenue Cycle Management. Under her direction, we have seen significant increase in negotiated fees, increase in auto posting of claims, and recently the rollout of a centralized insurance verification process. ROI on CIV is over $2m in year one. Kara received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville before earning her MBA from Webster University. Krysten Garduno is the Director of RCM for Espire Dental. She has been serving the dental community for over 15 years and has experience with both RCM and operations within dental practices. She’s had the honor of speaking as the subject matter expert of RCM for several great partners including the California Dental Association, Dental Nachos, and the Rocky Mountain Dental Convention. When it comes to the revenue cycle, Krysten is a big advocate of automation and having a skilled team work hand in hand.
Mark Brockelman is Sage Dental's forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer. Since joining the Sage leadership team in 2020, Mark has fostered Sage Dental’s strong financial performance through his extensive experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and financial leadership across private equity and growth-oriented companies. Built on his previous experience, including his role as Chief Financial Officer of National Dentex Corporation, the largest network of dental manufacturing laboratories in the U.S., Mark's strong and inspiring leadership, operational insight, and ability to form strong, collaborative teams have led him to successfully grow and protect Sage Dental's financial interests. Mark also served as Senior Vice President/Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Stadium, overseeing all aspects of the financial and administrative departments within the organization including Finance, Legal and Human Resources. Prior to joining the Dolphins, Mark served as the Chief Financial Officer at eScreen, Inc. eScreen develops, manufactures and markets employment screening products for hiring and maintaining an efficient workforce. He also served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Ascend Media LLC for four years. Ascend is a leading business-to-business, media-focused enterprise specializing in directories, professional magazines and journals, conferences and trade shows, continuing medical education, and Internet properties and databases serving the medical, dental, healthcare, food, beverage, packaging, gaming and business services industries. He previously spent five years at American Media, Inc. (AMI), a Boca Raton based company that publishes enthusiast publications such as Shape, Men’s Fitness, Fit Pregnancy and Natural Health. Mark currently resides in South Florida with his wife, Dr. Michelle Rivera, who is a general dentist also at Sage Dental. Mark and Michelle are proud parents of three, Grayson age 7, Kendall age 23 and Taylor age 28. Mark is also very active in the charitable community and served on the boards of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Miami Dolphins Foundation, Dolphins Cycling Challenge, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Discrimination Free Zone and Youth Sports Foundation.
My name is Karla Morales and my current job role is VP of RCM at West Coast Dental Services. West Coast Dental Services serves our Southern California communities with accessible dental care. I was born in Monterey Park, California and currently live in Orange County, Ca. I have spent the past 25 years of my career in the dental industry and have held many job roles from Operations, Auditing, IT, Project Management and my recent position as VP of RCM. Some of my career aspirations include mentoring, coaching, leading with thoughtfulness and creating a positive social impact in our communities. One of my recent achievements is building a CBO at WCD and centralizing the processes. We recently integrated onto a new PMS platform, and it has been such an achievement putting the puzzles together. My personal hobbies include spending time with my 3 kids and husband. We love to play sports, explore zoos and amusement parks, and build/create things.
Michael Baird is the CEO of Accelerate Dental, an innovative Dental Partnership Organization helping entrepreneurial dentists retain practice ownership, increase practice growth, and deliver higher quality care. Prior to founding Accelerate, Michael served as CEO of Henry Schein One, helping the world’s largest dental software company transition to the cloud and overseeing a software portfolio used by 70% of Dentists. Before that, Michael was founder and CEO of Avizia and served as President of Amwell after Avizia was acquired in 2018. Mike helped grow Amwell to be the largest provider of telehealth technology and services in the US with a successful IPO in 2020. Earlier in his career, Mike held senior positions at Tandberg, Cisco, McKinsey & Company and Dell. Mike serves on the boards of the American Telemedicine Association, TimelyMD, and is also a Venture Partner at Waterline Ventures, a Boston based venture capital dedicated to digital health transformation. Mr. Baird holds a BS degree in accounting from Brigham Young University, an MBA with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and was designated in 2005 as a Siebel Scholar.
Dr Brady Frank is a third generation dentist turned entrepreneur/inventor/author and thought-leader with a passion for teaching others the hard-won lessons he has learned about successfully creating and selling a business. Dr. Frank has built a platform and expertise related to multiple doctor & location private group practices, dental transitions, DSO and DDSO expansion and growth strategies, and healthcare real estate investment. Dr. Frank is most passionate about mentoring others on these topics to achieve their highest level of fulfillment and success. He is the Co-Founder of Freedom Dental Partners.
Bree Elliott is currently the Senior Director of Project Management, with a focus on Operations, for InterDent. Over the past 13 years, Bree has held various leadership roles in the Company, overseeing portfolios that include Operations, Strategic Initiatives, and Training & Development. Since assuming the PMO role in 2022, Bree's most notable achievement is leading the company through a successful transition to a new Practice Management Software, replacing a 40-year-old system. Throughout this endeavor, Bree collaborated closely with RCM and Finance leadership to navigate the challenges of implementing the new system, at both the field level and within the reporting environment, and has also been instrumental in fostering relationships with strategic partners to drive innovation and enhance efficiencies in Revenue Cycle Management.
Dr. Ferguson grew up in Lansing, Michigan. He has commented that “I couldn’t choose where I was born, but I got to Texas as fast as I could.” Dr. Ferguson benefitted from braces as a child. He recalls what a difference in made in his self-confidence and wanted to help others in the same way. Dr. Ferguson graduated at the top of his dental school class at The Ohio State University. He practiced as a general dentist for a year before returning for specialized training in orthodontics at Jacksonville University. Upon graduation he was awarded the prestigious Theodore Jerrold award as the top orthodontic resident. Dr. Ferguson chose to practice with Celebrate Dental & Braces because of the company mission statement to provide high quality, affordable braces to everyone. Most of the staff members at Celebrate have worked together with Dr. Ferguson for years, and he credits his team for the consistent amazing reviews the practice gets. Dr. Ferguson has been married for 24 years to his sweetheart, April, whom he met while he was working as a waiter on a train in Alaska. They have 7 energetic children that keep them very busy (and yes, almost all of them will probably need braces). Dr. Ferguson acknowledges that he has an incredible team around him both at home and at work. Ethan Morrow is the Director of Revenue Cycle Management at Dental Depot, with 10 years of experience in the dental industry. He is dedicated to servant leadership and guiding centralized billing teams to peak efficiency. Ethan’s responsibilities include supervising the revenue cycle operations billing teams, overseeing claim submission, insurance remittance, claim follow-up, and AR balances. He also manages Medicaid relations and compliance, and conducts reporting and accuracy audits to promote best practices. Dr. Adri Rama immigrated to America from Albania to pursue his university studies at Washington State with the goal of becoming a dentist. Dr. Rama majored in Microbiology, completing the degree in 3 years with summa cum laude, and he was accepted to all 8 of the dental schools he applied to. After finishing dental school at the University of Washington, Dr. Rama moved to sunny Arizona and has owned multiple dental offices while teaching advanced cosmetic and general dentistry to both individual doctors and in a classroom setting. Danielle Cuthbertson is a seasoned healthcare executive with nearly two decades of experience specializing in revenue cycle operations. Currently serving as VP of Revenue Cycle Management at Gen4 Dental Partners, she spearheads the company's revenue strategies and operations, overseeing billing, coding, and collections. Prior to this, Danielle held key leadership positions at DECA Dental Group, where she drove substantial growth and profitability through innovative revenue strategies. With a background at CareStack™ and Pacific Dental Services, she has a proven track record of optimizing financial performance for healthcare organizations while ensuring top-notch patient care.
Michele Alvarez has nearly three decades of experience in Medical and Dental Revenue cycle operation. Michele currently serves as the Vice President of Revenue Cycle for The Smilist Dental. She is responsible for the oversight of all Revenue Cycle Management functions. She is also an integral part in The Smilist’s rapid acquisition growth for both legacy systems and their current PMS systems. Michele previously led RCM operations for the West Division for Smilebrands and Smilecare Dental. She specializes in developing and executing revenue cycle strategies that will enhance financial performance and streamline any billing and payment processes. In her freetime, Michele is an avid world traveler. While at home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Bond has more than 20 years extensive revenue cycle experience in both healthcare and dental spaces and is responsible for overseeing the daily revenue cycle management and credentialing functions of BOND Orthodontic Partners. Previously, she served as a revenue cycle and practice management expert for large private-equity backed companies with a focus on building and centralizing key revenue cycle management services. She also managed revenue cycle operations for over 200 clinics across 28 states. Bond has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Tina King is the VP of Revenue Cycle Management for Specialty1 Partners. Tina has over 33 years of experience in revenue cycle management. Her experience covers a vast number of medical specialties, physicians, and institutional RCM, as well as prior DSO experience. She has worked in all aspects of the office environment. Her experience began at the front desk and progressed from that role to her current role over many years. She has a wealth of insight based on her prior experience and can leverage that experience to help improve the organization’s collections and RCM operations. She enjoys the most innovation and the creation of new processes in RCM.
